Project Manager

We are always looking for Project Managers who are responsible for total project control and management including:

  • Establishing and maintaining project schedule, budget and required scope according to plans and specifications
  • Monitoring costs and cash flow; Ensuring all expenditures are authorized and budgeted; Responsibility for RFI’s and change orders
  • Reviewing and monitoring additional information acquired from AUI Inc. crews, project engineers, project owners, and the project environment; Investigating and resolving complaints
  • Organizing and directing communication and project information distribution including meetings and written reports
  • Monitoring project compliance with OSHA, contract, local, state and federal laws/requirements, including maintaining required records
  • Reviewing work procedures and operations issues to identify ways of improving quality, performance, and/or safety; Detecting or assessing potential or actual risks and formulating plans for eliminating or mitigating them
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting exemplary performance standards and monitoring performance to assure that standards are met and maintained

Position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study
  • 5+ years experience in DOT-related heavy civil construction; bridge experience preferred
  • Experience in management of self-performed work, cost control, contract negotiation, CPM scheduling, and contract administration
  • Ability to lead and integrate a diverse project team and maintain the partnering relationship with the owner

Superintendent

We are always looking for Superintendents to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with challenging assignments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring crews to maintain adherence to project rules, procedures and safety requirements
  • Coordinating with crews and supervisors to guarantee that construction/maintenance complies with project specifications
  • Planning detailed work schedule and driving productivity by allocating necessary labor, materials and equipment
  • Providing technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommendations of construction methods and equipment
  • Anticipating unforeseen issues and, if necessary, proposing plans to mitigate them
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting exemplary performance standards and monitoring performance to assure that standards are met and maintained

Position requires:

  • Self-motivated, responsible, willing to travel, and goal oriented individual
  • 4+ years experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience in DOT standards; bridge experience preferred
  • 3D machine control preferred, but not required
  • Pre-employment drug screen

General Foreman

We are always looking for General Foremen to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with challenging assignments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising laborers and operators providing clear guidance and direction including: setting exemplary performance standards, monitoring productivity, and providing necessary training to achieve standards
  • Monitoring work performance of crew to ensure project rules, procedures and safety requirements are maintained
  • Working with Project Superintendent to pre-plan work schedules and determine manpower levels, materials and equipment necessary for project productivity
  • Coordinating with other on-site crews and supervisors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedule
  • Maintaining project daily reports and time card records

Position requires:

  • Self-motivated, responsible, willing to travel, and goal oriented individual
  • Minimum of three years experience
  • Experience in Utility/Dirt/Concrete general project work
  • Pre-employment drug screen
