The Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament benefits the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation (Foundation), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the well being of children with special needs and their families at Carrie Tingley Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Carrie Tingley Hospital provides health care needs for children and adolescents who require long-term medical and therapeutic care, such as the orthopedic and rehabilitative needs of spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and brain injuries. The Foundation’s goal is to improve the quality of life for these very special patients and their families.

Adam Triolo, CEO of AUI, was drawn to the Foundation by its focus on children with life-altering physical disabilities. Carrie Tingley Hospital helps these children and their families to:

  • Focus on the positive
  • Develop their talents and abilities
  • Know that no matter the physical limitations, an active, exciting and joyous life is possible

Adam has served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2002 and served as Board President in 2013.

The Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament is a way for AUI to contribute to the Carrie Tingley Foundation through the very thing that AUI does best: utility construction. Adam sees this Foundation as an opportunity for the company and its employees to contribute in a meaningful way by donating their skills, their talents, their time. At the same time, the event brings the company closer together in the spirit of giving and good fun. Since 1995, AUI has taken on the responsibility of providing the necessary site preparation, water supply, permits, traffic control, cleanup, and restoration of the site that are crucial to the success of the Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament.
